This artisan handwoven antique masterpiece, made in France, is truly a part of history. It is an original from the time period when only the French nobility could afford to place them in a Chateaux or as gifts to foreign dignitaries. When the French revolution took over, they were almost outlawed as they were sign a sign of regal opulence. Many were destroyed or sold overseas, and production is almost completely shut down. Having survived the centuries, they are available for almost anyone to put in their home as part of history.
With incredible detail of beautiful scrolling foliage, and arabesque details throughout, with geometric motifs carefully placed throughout. More commonly used in traditional settings, these rugs also look incredible in contemporary and modern rooms, giving a unique old world feel that no other type of rug does.
This rug's strong foundation allows has allowed it to survive the tests of time, growing more and more beautiful with age. A unique patina of wear over the years, makes it truly is one of a kind, meant to be enjoyed for many more years. As it is a flat-weave, the low profile is easy to walk on, and fits under most doors.
